One of the signs of the end is the Gospel of the Kingdom being preached throughout the world. In Matthew 24, Jesus said, "Then the end will come." But what is this gospel of the Kingdom? How does this apply to my faith journey and walk with Christ? There are many gospels out there. Do we truly have an understanding of the central message of Jesus was and what he was inviting us into? I think the gospel of the Kingdom would surprise many Christians today.
The Kingdom is not something many churches teach about. And yet, Jesus talked about it more than anything else. His invitation to repent and believe was completely tied to this gospel for which Jesus is King.
Join us as we continue our end times study of eschatology and prophecy throughout the Bible. Jesus wanted us to be alert and aware of the coming apocalypse. He did not want us to be ignorant of the truth.
Next up... We're going to revisit a sign that we discussed as we walked through some passages in Daniel. What is the abomination that causes desolation. This sign is BIG. https://radiantonline.org/

The Falling Away | E26

Tuesday Feb 06, 2024

Tuesday Feb 06, 2024

A sign leading up to the end times is apostasy, a rebellion, and a falling away within the church. Professing Christians will walk away from the faith and those who remain will face difficult times. We might be tempted to say, "That would never happen to me!" But we must be cautious. Do you have a strong foundation in biblical truth to stand firm in the midst of apostasy? Or like others, will you fall away?
In Matthew 24, Jesus warns, "many will turn away from the faith and will betray and hate each other." The other apostles warned of this throughout the new testament as well. Apostasy will occur from within and from outside the church. Are you prepared?
Join us as we continue our end times study of eschatology and prophecy throughout the Bible. Jesus wanted us to be alert and aware of the coming apocalypse. He did not want us to be ignorant of the truth.
Next up... What is this gospel of the Kingdom Jesus talks about in verse 14. There are many gospels out there. Do we truly have an understanding of the central message of Jesus was and what he was inviting us into? I think the gospel of the Kingdom would surprise many Christians today.

Is it possible to get distracted looking for the wrong signs? What are the signs of the end times? What happens when we are looking for the wrong things? What about earthquakes, famines, pestilences, war, and false teachers? How do they fit into the end times apocalyptic picture? All great questions.
In Matthew 24, Jesus is talking to his disciples about the future from the Mount of Olives. While certain tragedies and cataclysms may be signs that we are getting close to tribulation, he tells them that they are just the beginning of birth pains. They are NOT the actual signs themselves. Just like Braxton Hicks pains. While they are a sign of the upcoming labor, they are not the actual labor pains themselves.
What happens when we focus on natural disasters, military conflicts, and get caught up in every current news story, looking for signs? I believe we can miss the bigger signs Jesus will tell us about and can lead to unnecessary anxiety.
Next up... Jesus warns of apostasy in the church. When tested or persecution comes, people are going to fall or walk away from the faith. Other apostles warn of the same thing. Do you have a strong foundation in what you believe and why you believe it in order to confront false teaching and stand firm in your faith? Tune in next week.

Many Will Be Deceived | E24

Monday Jan 29, 2024

Monday Jan 29, 2024

The disciples ask three questions in Matthew 24. Before answering the questions, Jesus gives them a warning... Do not be deceived. If we were standing before him, I believe he would warn us of the same things.
In the end times, there will be false prophets and false messiahs that will come and convince many of their false teachings and lies. Many so-called "Christians" will be deceived and follow after these evil people. Do you have a strong enough foundation in the truth of scripture to withstand the convincing signs and wonders that will cause many people who call themselves Christians to fall away from the faith?
Let's take a closer look at what Jesus has to say about these false teachers and antichrists and why he warns us to be awake and aware. We're continuing to walk through Matthew 24 and working towards the book of Revelation.
Next up... What are the signs we SHOULDN'T be looking for? Sometimes we are looking at the wrong things, and these false signs cause us to get distracted and miss the real signs when they occur. We get trapped looking at the wrong things.

As Jesus is sitting on the Mount of Olives in Matthew 24, the disciples ask three questions, but good chance they thought they were all pointed to the same event. They had no way of knowing that there could be centuries if not thousands of years between fulfillment.
Like many of the young Jewish men of their times, the disciples understanding of the end times would have been influenced by the teachings of the Old Testament prophets concerning a future time when Jerusalem would be attacked, a remnant would go into hiding, and the Lord would return to earth. Prophets like Zechariah, Isaiah, Daniel, and more would have colored their lens through which they interpreted scripture in their own time. What did those prophets have to say?
Let's take a closer look at the prophecies of Zechariah this week knowing that the disciples had heard these stories in synogogue growing up and this formed a foundation of their prophetic puzzle. What does it look like when the Lord returns to Jerusalem? Come find out about earthquakes, living water, rotting corpses, and darkness during the day. These are crazy times.
We're continuing to walk through Matthew 24 and working towards the book of Revelation. We want to discover what Jesus is warning the disciples to be awake and looking for. Let's start tackling the three questions.
Next up... False teachers, false prophets, and apostasy. Why does Jesus warn us about these and what does that mean today?

Do I support the rebuilding of the Jerusalem temple? Should a Christian financially contribute to this endeavor? How about teaching it from the pulpit? Does a future tabernacle or temple align with what the apostles taught us concerning the death and resurrection of Jesus?
We know this… Orthodox Judaism (especially within Israel) wants it rebuilt and is already practicing rituals, developing architectural plans, and making the temple instruments necessary to do so. However, there are serious obstacles in the way including a shrine and mosque on the temple mount and the emotions concerning this issue run high.
And so... We need to ask some important questions. What is a temple? What does it symbolize? What is it used for? Why is there NO temple today? Let’s dive in.
As we continue to wade through Matthew 24 and discuss the Olivet discourse, we are digging in. We want to discover what Jesus is talking about to his disciples and what the warnings mean. The temple question is no different. Even if a temple is built, what should a follower of Christ's posture be? Is Jesus enough?
Join us as we learn more about the temple and as some important questions while discussing important eschatology topics such as the rapture, millennial kingdom, seven years tribulation, the false prophet, a future temple, and the book of 'Revelation (seals, trumpets, bowls, judgement, and wrath).
Next up... Birth pains. What are genuine signs of the end or just ongoing human problems? How can we distinguish the difference? What did our Lord teach us?

Jesus Wasn’t Impressed | E21

Thursday Dec 07, 2023

Thursday Dec 07, 2023

What impresses you? As Jesus is leaving the Jerusalem temple, the disciples are impressed with the enormous structure and architectural grandeur. However, Jesus wasn’t impressed, and as he often does, began to move the conversation away from worldly concerns towards spiritual realities. Not one stone will remain on top of another was his warning.
We are often amazed by our human creations and perceived ingenuity. It can distract us from a life of awe and wonder focused on Godly things. This is especially true when our manmade creations are made for selfish admiration rather than an act of worship towards our Creator.
As we dive into Matthew 24 and the Olivet discourse, we need to fully understand what is going on and discover what Jesus is talking about. In order to see things through the eyes of the disciples, we need to step into their world, set the stage and gain some perspective.
Join us as we learn more about the temple and three important questions while we discuss some important eschatology topics such as the rapture, millennial kingdom, seven years tribulation, the false prophet, a future temple, and the book of 'Revelation (seals, trumpets, bowls, judgement, and wrath).
Next up... We’re going to tackle a difficult and controversial subject. Should a follower of Christ support the rebuilding of a new Jerusalem Temple upon the temple mount? What does it stand for and represent?

What happens when the Spirit of God leaves the temple? Jesus taught them, warned them, and challenged them with woes. In the end, Israel would turn deny their King and reject their messiah. Just like Ezekiel, the Spirit departs the temple, goes through eh western gate, to the Mount of Olives. Is this all an accident, or did scripture predict these events hundreds of years before it happened. Let’s dive in!
As we dive into Matthew 24 and the Olivet discourse, we need to fully understand what is going on and discover what Jesus is talking about. In order to see things through the eyes of the disciples, we need to back up some and set the stage and gain some perspective.
Join us as we learn more about the temple and three important questions while we discuss some important eschatology topics such as the rapture, millennial kingdom, seven years tribulation, the false prophet, a future temple, and the book of 'Revelation (seals, trumpets, bowls, judgement, and wrath).
Next up... Let’s look at the disciples three questions deeper. Are they all the same event or three separate events that Jesus is about to clarify. Let’s jump in.

The Day of the Lord | E18

Wednesday Nov 08, 2023

Wednesday Nov 08, 2023

What is The Day of the Lord? Referred to by other names such as The Second Coming or "that day," this climactic end times event is mentioned more than 225 times throughout scripture. The Bible tells us it’s a day in which God will rescue His people and judge the lawless. Christ will defeat the antichrist and set up his kingdom on earth. All the events of Revelation, Jesus’s teaching, and the gospel of hope are leading up to this important day. Do we have a good grasp of what this day means and how the people of Christ should prepare for it?
Sometimes, it is good to understand the climax of the story to better understand the events leading up to it. The Day of the Lord is a day of hope for some and dread for others. That is why the prophets foretold of this coming time, and the apostles went throughout the known world telling others about it.
Join us as we continue to build the foundation to talk through some important eschatology topics such as the rapture, millennial kingdom, seven years tribulation, the false prophet, a future temple, and the book of 'Revelation (seals, trumpets, bowls, judgement, and wrath).
Next up... We’ll dive into the New testament and explore what this unique Day of Christ is and learn more about some of the end times signs to look out for.  See you next week.
