Radiant Midweek — Trumpets, Woes, and the Rise of a World Ruler (Revelation 8–11 Recap)
Welcome back! December got crazy (church + family), and the last episode tripped a content filter, so I pulled it, revised it, and we’re back. Radiant Midweek exists to challenge the status quo, push on cultural narratives, and help you think biblically—all while calling believers to be ready, watching, and waiting for the return of Jesus (Eph 6:12).
What’s inside this episode
Why the last pod was revised and what we’re trying to do here
Seven Trumpets overview: impacts on land, sea, and fresh water; darkened skies; and the three WOES
Possible mechanisms: comet/asteroid/volcanic or nuclear winter; global trade collapse; food/water scarcity
The Abyss opened: locust-like tormentors, sealed believers protected (Eph 1:13), Abaddon/Apollyon named
A 200-million force & mass casualties: how Scripture frames it compared to modern history
The “world ruler” arc: from apparent rescuer to blasphemous tyrant (Rev 13:4; 2 Thes 2:4)
How the Seals, Trumpets, and Woes relate: seals = summary, trumpets = how it unfolds
Daniel’s timeline refresher: covenant, abomination, and prophetic day-counts (Dan 9, 12)
Temple measurement in Rev 11: outer court “given to the Gentiles,” and hypotheses about what that could mean today
Preview: the Two Witnesses and why the world hates them (Rev 11:3–6)
Key Scriptures
Revelation 6–11 • Luke 21:25 • Ephesians 6:12; 1:13 • Isaiah 14:12 • Daniel 8:13–14; 9:24–27; 12:11–12 • 2 Thessalonians 2:4 • Colossians 1:26–27 • Romans 14:12
Big Idea
Global upheaval sets the stage for a counterfeit savior and intensified persecution—but also for courageous witness and the ultimate reign of Jesus, the true King. In the chaos, fear God, not people; anchor your hope in Christ and live ready.

Welcome to Radiant Midweek — “The Two Witnesses (Revelation 11)”
Tonight we open Revelation 11 and meet the first of a fascinating cast introduced across chapters 11–14. Think of it like the playbill from Fiddler on the Roof—you’re handed a list of key characters so you know who matters in the story. Over the next few weeks we’ll meet: the Two Witnesses, the Beast(s), the Woman, the Child, the Dragon, Michael, the Lamb, the 144,000, three angels, and “one like the Son of Man.”
Today’s focus: the Two Witnesses—who are they and why do they matter?
What we cover
Measuring the temple (Rev 11:1–2): what the reed means, who/what gets measured (temple, altar, worshipers), and why the outer court is excluded and “given to the Gentiles” for 42 months.
Jerusalem “the holy city”: how “trampled by the nations” connects to Daniel, Jesus’ words (Luke 21:24), and the timeline language (42 months / 1,260 days / time, times, half a time).
The Two Witnesses (Rev 11:3–6):
Mission & wardrobe: 1,260 days of prophetic ministry clothed in sackcloth (a call to repentance).
Identity views: symbolic/corporate vs. literal—Moses & Elijah? Elijah & Enoch? two future prophets?
Miracle profile: fire against enemies, shutting the sky (like Elijah), waters to blood and plagues (like Moses).
Zechariah 4 connection: “two olive trees and two lampstands” who “stand before the Lord of the earth.”
Discipleship takeaway: bold witness in a hostile culture—fear God, not people (Matt 10:28).
Key Scriptures
Revelation 11:1–6; 10:11; 12:6,14 • Daniel 8:13–14; 9:24–27 • Luke 21:24 • Zechariah 4:1–14 • Malachi 4:5–6 • Numbers 35:30; Deuteronomy 17:6 • John 8:13–18 • James 5:17 • Hebrews 4:12 • Hosea 6:5 • Jeremiah 5:14; 23:29 • 2 Thessalonians 2:4 • Matthew 24:15; 10:28
Big Idea
God appoints credible, Spirit-empowered witnesses who call the world—and especially Jerusalem—to repentance and readiness for King Jesus. Their courage under pressure models how we proclaim the gospel: with clarity, compassion, and conviction.
Reflection / Small-Group Questions
Why does John measure the temple, altar, and worshipers but exclude the outer court?
How do the 42 months / 1,260 days help you frame Revelation’s timeline?
Which identity view of the Two Witnesses makes the most biblical sense to you—and why?
Where is God asking you to wear “sackcloth” (humble repentance) and speak with boldness this week?

Gog and Magog — The Final Battle of Ezekiel 38 & 39 Explained
What exactly is the war of Gog and Magog? Is it Russia, an Islamic coalition, or something deeper?
In this episode of Escaping Babylon, Pastor Jason walks through Ezekiel 38–39 and Revelation 20 in a way that makes sense of one of the most debated prophecies in the Bible. You’ll discover:
Why Gog isn’t a nation but a leader of a vast coalition
The meaning of “living in unwalled villages”
How the premillennial and amillennial timelines differ
What it means that Satan is bound — and yet still prowling
How the Bible reveals cycles and patterns of rebellion and restoration
Why this prophecy ends not in fear, but in worship and hope “The cycle of sin and rebellion ends here. Evil won’t rise again.”
Featuring insights from Daniel Block, Tremper Longman III, Michael Heiser, John Stott, and Joel Richardson, this teaching traces how God’s ultimate victory unfolds—and how we can live faithfully while we wait.
Key Scriptures: Ezekiel 38–39 | Revelation 19–20 | 1 Peter 5:8 | Matthew 12:29 | Revelation 22:17
Chart Discussed: Premillennial vs Amillennial timeline of Gog and Magog
Reflection Question: When the final cycle ends, will you be found with the Lamb—or with the horde of Gog?

Revelation 20 (Part 1)The Thousand Years & the Binding of Satan
Standing on Har Megiddo (Armageddon) overlooking the Jezreel Valley, history screams: this is a battleground. But Revelation doesn’t end at Armageddon (ch. 19). In ch. 20, John sees something stranger: Satan bound, thrones and priests, a first resurrection, and the promise that over the faithful the second death has no power. What is the Millennium—and what does it mean for us now?
In this episode: we unpack the millennium views, the binding of Satan (what it does and doesn’t mean), the first resurrection vs. the second death, the role of the martyrs, and the finale with Gog and Magog. We also draw on Ezekiel’s flow (37–48) and insights from Dr. Michael Heiser to see how Revelation 20 completes God’s “cosmic cleanup.”
Watch if you’re asking:• Is the 1,000 years literal or symbolic?• If Satan is “bound,” why is evil still active?• Who reigns on the thrones—and when?• What exactly is the “first resurrection”…and how do I share in it?
⏱️ Timestamps (Chapters)

📖 Key Scriptures
Revelation 19–20; Ezekiel 37–48; Daniel 7:13–14, 7:22; Isaiah 2:2–4; Isaiah 11:6–9; Zechariah 14:16–17; 1 Thessalonians 4:16–17; John 11:25–26; Ephesians 2:6; 1 Peter 5:8; 2 Corinthians 4:4; Ephesians 6:11–12; Daniel 12:2; Acts 3:21; Matthew 19:28; Jude 14–15.
🧭 Big Ideas
Satan Bound (Limited, not inert): Bound from deceiving the nations into the final unified assault until God’s timing—creating space for the Great Commission.
Saints Enthroned: The faithful (including martyrs) share in Christ’s reign and judgment (Dan 7; 1 Cor 6).
First Resurrection > Second Death: Those in Christ are blessed, priestly, and secure—the lake of fire has no claim on them.
Gog & Magog: John uses Ezekiel’s names to symbolize a global last rebellion—ended instantly by God’s fire.
Cosmic Cleanup: Eden’s serpent, the rebellious powers, the Beast/False Prophet, and finally Satan—all removed.
💡 Apply It
Live as priests and witnesses now (Rev 20; Eph 2:6).
Refuse deception—anchor your allegiance in Jesus, not in tribes or empires.
Face death without fear: if you share the first resurrection, the second death has no power over you.
📚 Notes & Resources

Babylon Has Fallen | E76

Monday Aug 25, 2025

Monday Aug 25, 2025

Podcast Episode 76: Revelation 18 — Babylon Has Fallen
From the Tower of Babel to the fall of Babylon in Revelation 18, Scripture tells one continuous story: a tale of two cities.
On one side: Jerusalem — the city of God, where His Kingdom is established.
On the other: Babylon — the city of man, where humanity builds without God and rebels against Him.
In this episode, we trace Babylon’s story from Genesis to Revelation. We’ll explore:
The Tower of Babel and the roots of rebellion (Genesis 11).
Prophecies of Babylon’s sudden destruction (Isaiah, Jeremiah, Zechariah).
Why Revelation says Babylon falls “in one hour.”
How the Beast and ten kings betray her — and why God is behind it.
Babylon as both a city and a spirit — a system of rebellion and false worship.
What it means to “come out of her, my people” (Revelation 18:4).
Key takeaway: Babylon will fall, but God’s Kingdom will never be shaken. The real question is: Which city are you living for?

The Beast Rises | E75

Sunday Aug 17, 2025

Sunday Aug 17, 2025

Podcast Ep. 75 — The Beast (Revelation 17, Part 2)Nimrod’s ancient rebellion didn’t die at Babel—it echoes forward into the final world empire. In this episode we trace the “spirit of Babel” from Genesis to Revelation: the beast who was, is not, and is about to rise (Rev 17:8). We show how John builds on Daniel’s four beasts, why the end-times ruler is both a person and a system, what the ten kings signify, and how Jesus (Matt 24) prepares us to endure deception, pressure, and a counterfeit kingdom. The Lamb wins. Stand faithful.
Key Scriptures: Gen 10–11; Gen 14; Dan 2, 7; Ps 2; Matt 24; 2 Thess 2:3–4; Rev 9, 13, 17, 19.
Chapters
00:00 Cold open — Nimrod & Babel (The First Rebel King)04:35 Who is the Beast? (Rev 17:8; abyss; counterfeit trinity)12:10 Person and system; false resurrection (Rev 13)18:45 Daniel’s playbook: four beasts & the little horn (Dan 7)27:20 Ten kings, one mind: the short-lived coalition (Rev 17:12–14; Dan 7:24)35:05 Jesus’ commentary in Matthew 24 (abomination, tribulation, deception)44:30 Hope: the Lamb conquers; how to live now49:10 Practice: a 5–10 minute prayer/journaling guide
Big Ideas
The beast is a satanic counterfeit of the One “who was, is, and is to come.”
A final empire arises as a coalition (ten kings) that hands authority to one ruler.
The aim isn’t only control—it’s worship (2 Thess 2; Rev 13).
Endurance > alarmism: Christ’s Kingdom is eternal; the beast’s reign is brief.
Reflection Prompt:“Lord, where am I most vulnerable to compromise in a world preparing for the beast? Give me courage to be faithful.”

In this episode, we examine one of the most shocking and symbolic passages in all of Scripture — the woman riding the beast in Revelation 17. From the deserts of Arabia to the ruins of Babylon, we explore theories around her identity and what it means for us today.
🧠 Topics include:
Twelver Shiism and the Mahdi
Mystery Babylon: Mecca? Rome? New York?
The connection between empire, religion, and persecution
Global Christian persecution and the blood of the saints
Revelation’s warning and promise — Babylon will fall, but the Lamb wins
📖 Key Verses: Revelation 17, Matthew 23, Jeremiah 51, Isaiah 13–14, Hosea 9

In this episode of Escaping Babylon, we dive deep into John’s vision of the woman riding the scarlet beast—a prophetic picture of ultimate rebellion against God.
